Churchill Fellowship
CENTURIES OLD CRAFT
Advancing the Traditional Craft of Stone Letter Carving
In 2019, Evan Marker was awarded the prestigious Bob and June Prickett Churchill Fellowship, recognising his commitment to developing and preserving traditional stoneworking skills.
The Fellowship provided Evan with the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom and Belgium, where he studied the traditional art of hand-carved stone lettering and gained first-hand experience from highly skilled craftspeople and established stone-carving studios.
An important purpose of Evan’s Churchill Fellowship was to bring the knowledge and techniques gained overseas back to Australia.
These traditional skills now form an important part of Evan’s work, particularly in stone letter carving, heritage stonework, restoration and bespoke stone commissions.
Let's create something
enduring together.
